Insights and Discoveries Week 6

“An idea can only become a reality once it is broken down into organized, actionable elements.”
Scott Belsky (Making Ideas Happen: Overcoming the Obstacles Between Vision and Reality)

Organizational Dimension of Creativity, the title of today's lecture. Organization is such a big part to everyday life, like school, work, even one's personal life, so obviously, the title was of big importance.

The material presented today felt like the building blocks of a successful team project or a team assignment.

The idea of
was introduced today, as I had never heard this term before, I definitely felt the implications of this term in group activities of one sort or another. Which, when put into perspective, happened alot in groups growing up, I guess I never really noticed them because I was always the "positive" one in the group.

What was really interesting was The Business Model Canvas, which clearly stated the ideas of the entrepreneur. The Business Model Canvas is a strategic management template for developing new or documenting existing business models. It is a visual chart with elements describing a firm's value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Model_Canvas). I liked this model because if you simply followed your steps and goals, then everything would sort of...fall into place. Which is what everyone wants, and hopes to happen quickly and easily! :)

Talking to my group mates this time truly was a whole new experience for some reason! I guess the content made the information different, because it was so much more, detailed, and out of our comfort zones, I think we all accepted our task and did well. It was different, but then it became comfortable!

My mind learned that innovation killers can be rectified with practical steps in a list of 10
My heart learned that no matter who you are, a lot can be accomplished through           organized creativity :)
My gut learned that there is a lot of steps required to success, as long as you follow them
My curiosity wondered how difficult it was to create a business model canvas
My imagination learned that all kinds of people can create model canvases not just business people
