Insights and Discoveries Week 2

The Learning pyramid and Dales Cone of Experience were definitely something that stuck out in my mind this past lecture. I pretty much knew about how people learned, but the percents really put into perspective how much people absorbed what they actually learned. I like how the Cone of experience broke down this learning styles even further. My whole life I've been tweaking my learning style, changing a little bit here and there, so I think the cone will help me decide what to tweak and what to develop in my own learning style.

I find myself thinking more creatively during the EXERCISES portion of the lecture. Besides hearing answers from my fellow classmates, I too found myself writing down creative answers. The energy during presenting our ideas was so invigorating, I felt my creative juices flowing. During the Service Section of the exercises, one service my partner and I found we would rather have someone else do was a personal shopper. I thought of a hula-hoop looking device that you could program your outfit into and ...

Your outfit would be change after you placed the hula hoop over your head. Personally, this was a pretty genius idea

The positive experience in class today was the fact, I once again, stepped outside of my comfort zone. There was one negative part of the team assignment was the fact that my part was a little stuffy on the fact that he didn't really want to look outside the box... AT ALL...also kind of difficult to work with

ANYWAY!
I probably won't be sitting next to him, just because I have such a good time in this class, and I don't want anything to be affected by this. A lot of people in this class are feeling in the ZONE OF COMFORT, which is comforting fine but I'm hoping with this class, lots of us can move further and further out of our comfort zone and begin THINKING more creatively!

I REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE THE ENERGY IN THIS CLASS!!!! Just a personal thought to leave with...

"It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." - Albert Einstein
